As part of our estate liquidation services, we purchase, sell, and consign all types of vehicles; from cars, trucks, trailers, and even boats. If the estate has a vehicle or vehicles in it, we can handle every aspect of the transaction, from purchase or consignment to the final sale, including handling interim storage if needed. We take care of all of the paperwork, even if you are unable to locate the title or keys*. We are a fully licensed, bonded, and insured vehicle dealer in the state of California.
We would be happy to answer any questions you may have about the process, including even if you just want to know how much DMV fees are due on it, since many estate vehicles have not been registered in years. We have a licensed DMV paperwork specialist working with us. Whether the vehicle is running or not, we can pick it up with our flatbed and bring it to our secure yard. We work with our contracted trusted mechanic, and can perform any repairs for near-wholesale rates charged to you.
Consignment: We offer consignment services for vehicles as well. Consignment is when we take the vehicle and sell it for you, paying you for it after it’s sold. We offer this service for two primary reasons: it usually nets more to the customer, since we are selling it retail for you, and only taking a commission, versus purchasing it wholesale from you. The second reason is it does not tie up our working capital while it is being sold. We are a well-aged, mid-sized company, but it’s easy to tie up large sums of money quickly when vehicle inventory reaches higher levels, so obviously we must manage this since money is never unlimited. Our consignment fees vary, depending on the vehicle’s sales price, but it varies from as low as 13%, to as high as 50% (for instance, if we are selling a $1,200 vehicle, we would be at the 50% level, since although that seems excessive, considering all of the expenses involved, $600 is almost a break-even for us. Usually it takes 30 – 60 days for the entire process, from pickup to selling the vehicle and giving you a check.
Other times we will outright purchase the vehicle for a check or cash on the spot if this is what you are wanting, and not desiring to sell it via the consignment process. When we see the vehicle, or discuss it over the phone, text, or email, we would be happy to discuss the options we could offer on the respective vehicle.
We do not claim to be the highest payers for vehicles, or the lowest. If one shops around, they can always find a “better deal” somewhere, but are always fair, efficient, totally transparent, and will make the entire process as easy and stress-free as possible.
Note: We state we sell “estate vehicles” on our website and business cards, but to clarify, we are fully licensed to sell all vehicles. We put “estate vehicles”, since we are mainly an estate-liquidation company, and observed over the years many of the estates also had vehicles in them. Since a DMV dealers license is required to sell vehicles, we elected to obtain our dealers license so we could more comprehensively serve our customers, as well increase our revenue, of course.
